Real Madrid have just touched the incredible statistic of the attacking trio – Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Gareth Bale – contributing 160 goals since joining the club at various stages since the last season.
These goals have come in all competitions like the la Liga and Champions League. Even though Ronaldo has scored most of these goals, Benzema and Bale have also contributed a lot either directly or through assists. Speaking about this irresistible combination, Benzema said that it is easy to play with players like Ronaldo because they are incredible.
The forward line up of the Spanish club has cost them an amazing £ 200 million in transfer fees alone. It is therefore not surprising to see them having scored so many goals.
Even though the Spanish league campaign is only 19 games old, Madrid have already scored 64 goals with 28 of them coming from Cristiano Ronaldo. The next best scorers in the league – Barcelona – are already 10 goals behind the table leaders. Such is the domination of Madrid when it comes to attacking force. Benzema also spoke about the disappointment of having been knocked out of the Copa del Rey by arch rivals Atletico Madrid. He looks at this defeat in a positive sense by saying that it would give the players more rest.
“I was looking for Cristiano and it came off well to help the team score the first goal of the game. We needed to win after being knocked out by Atletico. The only good thing is it allows us to rest more. In the first half I tried hard by Getafe defended well.I’m happy to play with (Ronaldo). He’s the best player in the world.I only work to constantly play at the highest level,” said Benzema, who has just nine league goals this season.
